I’ve just returned after two weeks on the road, visiting my colleagues and partners in India, Singapore and Australia – the local teams set-up a tremendous series of partners meetings as I’ve shared in my previous posts from this trip, both while in India and Singapore.

It’s clear from these meetings partners are very excited about the opportunity ahead and the near-term road map of Microsoft’s biggest launch wave of new technologies in our recent history. My focus for the coming months is preparing for all the new innovation so that we are ready to equip our partners to compete in the market and usher in “A New Era at Microsoft” beginning at WPC 2012
 
We are embarking on a series of investments to prepare all our partners for the tremendous amount of change coming in our product portfolio.  We are committed to making sure that our partners are armed with the new skills, knowledge and tools to WIN! 
 
Examples of these investments are starting to become available as I’ve written beginning earlier in the calendar year and touched on here, but to give you a bit more details:
  • We launched the new Partner Marketing Centre – a partner marketing toolbox with campaigns, web content syndication and future capabilities of services and events, all to populate with material to help partners embrace the new wave of Microsoft technology and drive demand with customers by allowing easy access to a rich stream of marketing content.

  • Last week saw the next wave of new Microsoft Partner Portal deployed in following markets:
–   US
–   UK
–   Australia
–   Philippines
–   Denmark
–   Ireland
–   Norway
–   Sweden
–   Cyprus
–   Estonia
–   Latvia
–   Netherlands
  
The new platform delivers a new online experience with a whole new set of features and capabilities, including: 
  • Brand new design. redesigned from the ground up based on feedback and the data we have been gathering on how our partners use the site, as well as best in class online principles
  • Personalization. A new personalized experience tailors the surfacing of content according to partner profile attributes. This new capability will enable partners to find and use information more quickly.
  • Enhanced Search. A new search experience, powered by Fast for SharePoint, not only increases relevancy but offers a whole new set of options to filter results while providing faster performance.
  • Brand New Support Experience. A new support experience provides partners with a new set of capabilities to contact Microsoft and maximizes ability to take advantage of the benefits of MPN membership.
With all this great opportunity ahead, I’m more excited than ever to gather with our partners and celebrate our mutual accomplishments and future success at the Worldwide Partner Conference.  As of T-9 weeks, WPC has attracted over thousands of attendees.
