All active Microsoft Partner Network organizations must provide annual anti-corruption training to employees that “resell, distribute, market, or otherwise dispose of Microsoft products.” This change was implemented in the 2014 MPN Agreement.
Who is affected?
All MPN member organizations must provide anti-corruption training to employees who “resell, distribute, market, or otherwise dispose of Microsoft products.” Here are some common questions and answers about this change:
Why is this training required?
Microsoft is dedicated to doing business ethically and responsibly around the world. Agreements with Microsoft, including The Microsoft Partner Network Agreement, require compliance with anti-corruption laws. Anti-corruption training is fairly common among most (if not all) IT vendors with their partner communities.
Microsoft holds both our own employees and partner employees to high ethical standards. Microsoft relies on third parties – including MPN members, channel partners, distributors, resellers, and developers – to help sell, market, and evangelize Microsoft products and services. We win together by doing business ethically and honestly, and we value our partners’ continued support and commitment in this regard.
What must I do?
Microsoft is requiring partners to annually certify that they are in compliance with Microsoft’s Anti-Corruption policy for Representatives and are providing training to their employees who “resell, distribute, market or otherwise dispose of Microsoft products” regarding Anti-Corruption laws.
If partners have not yet provided training to their employees on Anti-Corruption laws, they must agree to do so or have their employees participate in the anti-corruption training that Microsoft has made available before the end of their MPN membership year.
What training options are available?
If a partner organization already provides annual training to its employees on Anti-Corruption laws, they can leverage that training to comply with Microsoft’s requirements. For partner organizations without their own Anti-Corruption training, MPN offers a no-cost, online training course on anti-corruption through the Partner Learning Center. All partners can include this training in their employees’ training plans. The course is available in the following languages: English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Urdu, Romanian, and Ukrainian. Find the training here
or search for the course using the course ID 862649.
When do I need to take the training?
Partners have to provide annual anti-corruption training to employees who “resell, distribute, market or otherwise dispose of Microsoft products” at any point during their active membership year in the MPN program.
