System Center 2012 is now Generally Available!

Since the introduction of System Center 2012 at last year’s Microsoft Management Summit (MMS) and through the Microsoft Private Cloud Day in January, excitement has been building for System Center 2012 and Microsoft private cloud.

That excitement culminated in Brad Anderson’s announcement of System Center 2012 general availability (GA) at MMS2012. For more details on System Center 2012 GA, please read the MMS announcement press release and Brad Anderson’s executive blog.

With System Center 2012 technology, partners can create a dedicated cloud environment that can transform the way you deliver IT services to customers:

  • Land core customer business value through application services management
  •
  • Seamlessly manage across public and private clouds via common management, identity, and developer tools
  •
  • Deliver greater customization and control by providing the increased scale and flexibility of cloud computing on dedicated resources
  •
  • Build solutions that work across platforms and across multiple hypervisors, including Hyper-V, VMware, and Citrix

AND your business can expand with many new IT management opportunities:

  • Deliver flexible and cost effective infrastructure with what is already known and owned
  •
  • Create an environment that can adapt dynamically
  •
  • Provide high performance and scale based on the needs of the business
  •
  • Guarantee the right level of SLA and provide chargebacks as needed
  •
  • Automate systems through a management system that can enforce policies for data security
  •
  • Reduce the overall costs of an IT infrastructure

For those of you who have already invested in a Microsoft management practice, the MPN Systems Management and the Virtualization competencies will be combined as a single Management and Virtualization competency in June. This change aligns with the Microsoft value proposition for System Center and will better prepare you to deliver private cloud solutions. If you currently have either competency, you will automatically be moved into the new Management and Virtualization competency at the end of May 2012 and have until your next annual renewal date to meet the requirements to earn or retain the new competency.

Now that System Center 2012 is in market, there’s never been a better time to explore the benefits of building a System Center 2012-based Microsoft private cloud practice.  I strongly encourage you, our partners, to take advantage of the readiness and sales enablement assets we’ve made available through the Microsoft Partner Network and the Microsoft product website.
