Today I’m kicking off a regular series of updates on the inner workings of the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Group, specifically looking at the how the marketing team (which I lead) is working to ensure Microsoft is the best business decision a Partner can make. We aim to do this by delivering capabilities and services that support our partners, large or small – developing new practice areas, embracing new technology and helping partners consume the benefits offered through MPN membership.
Today, Kat Tillman, WPG Community Manager, and I co-hosted the second-season debut of MPN Live, a 30-minute web broadcast with five guest partners that participated both in-person and via Skype: Birger, Justin, Per, Christian, and Anders. We held insightful discussions about the power of partners working together to amplify their reach into the market and the success they have seen from offering a richer set of services to customers. See a clip here. Many great examples were given, and the Worldwide Partner Conference touted as a tremendous opportunity for building those connections face-to-face.
We also explored the new direction we are taking online with the launch of the new Digital WPC site in late February. It will have community built in by design, allowing those connections you make before, during and after WPC to be maintained and developed. More to follow on this exciting new capability.
