Giving back to our local communities has always been very important to us at WPC and to our partner attendees. This year we are focusing on giving back more than ever before. Today, I am excited to announce the WPC Giving Initiative!

In partnership with all of you, the Microsoft YouthSpark team, and Hilton Worldwide, we are launching a groundbreaking effort to make a big difference in the world around us.  WPC Giving is a transition from the traditional WPC Day of Giving event to an extended opportunity to give back to local and global communities through a variety of in-kind and monetary contributions, both pre-event and onsite in Houston.

I invite you to check out the WPC Giving page on this site, and start participating today. The first way you can participate is by bidding on several WPC experience packages, which launch today and close on June 20. This is your chance to experience WPC in style, have exclusive behind the scenes access, and even introduce Lenny Kravitz on stage with Jon Roskill! All proceeds will benefit the youth organization of your choice at Microsoft YouthSpark’s giveforyouth.org.

Additionally, in partnership with Microsoft YouthSpark, for the first time in WPC history we are challenging Microsoft partners to give back to their communities through the WPC 2013 Partners for Good Challenge. It’s simple! Just browse through the projects at giveforyouth.org, select the project that you’d like to support, and donate! You can begin learning about the various projects now, and the donation opportunity will begin on July 7. And… it gets better! Microsoft YouthSpark will match each Partners for Good Challenge donation made during July 7-11, 2013, up to US$100,000! We hope you’re up to the challenge!

We’re making it as easy as possible for you to help us give back. WPC is continuing the tradition of donating US$1.00 for each session evaluation submitted and US$5.00 for each full event survey submitted – all you have to do is complete surveys and you can help us support Pencils of Promise!

There’s more! Based on past attendee feedback, it’s not that important to you that you receive a conference bag once you arrive onsite. Therefore, in lieu of providing conference backpacks, we are making a monetary donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Houston.

Last, our friends at Hilton Worldwide are also supporting this important cause by making a monetary donation to Microsoft YouthSpark for every night booked at participating Hilton family hotels in our WPC room blocks during WPC 2013.

We’d like to invite all partners attending WPC 2013 to join us in this groundbreaking initiative. Together we can make a big difference in the world around us. Thank you in advance for your generous support!

We are looking forward to seeing all of you in July!
