This year, I’m delighted to welcome more than 17,000 attendees from 132 countries to Microsoft Inspire in Las Vegas, Nevada. For me, our annual partner conference is the best way to celebrate a year of collaboration, learning, and succeeding together. It’s also an opportunity to look ahead to how we can achieve more together by delivering innovative solutions that drive customer success with digital transformation.
For the first time, we’ve co-located Microsoft Inspire with Microsoft Ready—the annual Microsoft sales, marketing, and technical fiscal kickoff—to provide new opportunities for partners and field teams to connect and collaborate. I’m especially looking forward to a first-of-its-kind Corenote on Wednesday, July 18, when Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella will address a joint audience of attendees from both conferences.
More partner opportunities than ever before

We’re also making our commercial Microsoft Partner Network program even stronger to better support how you differentiate your businesses and solutions and reach more customers. These upcoming enhancements were announced last week:
- New approach to showcasing specialized expertise beyond a Gold competency, called advanced specializations
- Microsoft Azure Expert MSP program for partners with deep, highly specialized capabilities, verified by an independent third party
- Flexible benefits packages for partners with competencies that add access to go-to-market services as core benefits
- New e-books for partners about digital transformation
- New practice development playbooks
Selling your solutions with Microsoft
Last year when Microsoft launched the One Commercial Partner organization, we started a new chapter in our partner relationships by rewarding our sellers to sell 3rd party solutions. The results have been incredible. In just the first year of our IP co-sell motion, partner revenue has surpassed $5B. And there’s so much more opportunity for growth. So, in the coming year, we’ll continue to incentivize our sellers to sell your solutions alongside Microsoft’s solutions.
Because the highest priority for the One Commercial Partner team is to connect partners with customers, we’re taking that same philosophy to Microsoft’s AppSource marketplace. In early 2019, for the first time in Microsoft’s history, we’ll put partner solutions in our product catalog alongside first party products and services. That means our direct salesforce and reseller partners will be able to sell 1st and 3rd party solutions individually or combined. This is one of several enhancements we’re making to evolve AppSource into a one-stop opportunity for 75 million buyers to find the solution they’re looking for 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
On Tuesday morning, during my Corenote at Inspire, I’ll share other new ways One Commercial Partner is exposing partner solutions to more customers. And I’ll talk about how partners are helping our mutual customers find gold buried in the data they’ve been sitting on, by leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning.
