Are you ready for the cloud? Just this week we officially launched three new cloud performance competencies to the Microsoft Partner Network: Small and Midmarket Cloud Solutions, Cloud Productivity, and Cloud Platform. Learn more about why Cloud is Our Core.

Today I want to pass on news of a brand-new online web series called Cloud Profitability Fridays. These start Friday, October 3!

Each Friday at 8:30 a.m. Pacific, you can watch a streaming video about cloud profitability topics such as the pitch, financial modeling, or creating a business plan. We’ll also have case studies with real Microsoft partners who are successfully transitioning to the cloud.

Also, a cloud Subject Matter Expert will be on hand to answer live questions via a Q&A chat—think of that like a cloud-focused Ask Me Anything event. Pretty neat!

The series begins October 3 at 8:30 a.m. (Pacific), plus every Friday on Microsoft Virtual Academy. You can see and register for the first session here, and check back for details on each session’s agenda.

Here’s a look at the first few sessions:
  • October 3: Cloud Profitability Interview with Phil Sorgen

Phil Sorgen, CVP of the Worldwide Partner Group at Microsoft, shares his thoughts on cloud profitability, what this means to partners, and key things to focus on.

  • October 10: Cloud Profitability Pitch

Josh Waldo, former Sr. Director of Worldwide Cloud Strategy at Microsoft, will discuss cloud industry trends and your opportunities as a Microsoft partner.

  • October 17: Building a Financial Plan

Brent Combest, Microsoft Worldwide Director Cloud Sales, SMB, helps you consider financial aspects of cloud partner profitability, including the anatomy of a cloud deal, sales compensation models, and recommended financial models to yield the most profit.
