2014 has been an incredible journey together with our partners. Reflecting on our accomplishments, I’m excited to think about the significant opportunities in 2015.
Take a look at what WE’VE done:
Delivered cloud solutions in high demand by customers:
  • 70% of Fortune 500 companies have purchased Office 365 in the last 12 months.

  • 57% of the Fortune 500 organizations are using Microsoft Azure. On average, 8K customers sign up for Azure every week, with over 250K customers using today.

  • 60% of Fortune 500 companies use Microsoft Dynamics
Launched new, streamlined ways to increase partner profitability, credibility and visibility to customers:
Across the year and my travels abroad, I’ve gained valuable insights, continuing to learn from our partners. The emerging trends are apparent – and will become the compass to guide our acceleration in 2015.
Thinking ahead:
  • Business Activities Shift to Managed Services and Building IP – half of partners currently offer some form of managed services today, and of the half that aren’t, another 43% of those are planning for it; IDC reports more partners of all types are now packaging up their IP for resale.

  • Sales Motion Moves from One-Time to Recurring – partners will continue to increase their focus on building a base of recurring revenue and change the way they approach sales. Getting new customers is still hugely important. But now it’s all about keeping a laser focus on maintaining customer satisfaction and keeping customers for the long term.

  • Marketing Shifts to Digital – already at an accelerated reach, ready-access to browsing devices has had a huge impact on how customers find goods, services and suppliers. Reaching and educating customers online is an essential part of business success in the mobile-first, cloud-first world.

  • Profitability with Products in the Marketplace – Office 365 – with more than 35 million downloads of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote, proliferation across devices will continue its increasing trend. Azure Cloud Platform System (CPS) provides an agile, scalable building block for cloud solutions. According to IDC, the growing customer demand for cloud and hybrid services is expected to reach US$108 billion by 2017.
These are just a few of the things that I think about as opportunities for next year and beyond. Now, it’s time to enjoy celebrations and downtime with family and friends. We will come back next year revitalized, invigorated – ready to continue the work, improvements and innovation we are committed to delivering every day for our partners. Have a very happy holiday season and best wishes for even more success in 2015.
